Invitation &
Welcome
Welcome to the 2002 Project Management Conference with the
theme "Soaring the Winds of Change".
Change. It's constant. Being involved
in or associated with project management, we recognise that
it part of our daily business, political and social lives.
We embrace change because this is what each project delivers.
This year the conference will bring together shared insights,
knowledge and experiences that will help each of us better
understand how change can be used as a catalyst for success
and the role project management plays in successfully managing
change.
As the eighth annual national conference
of the Project Management Institute of New Zealand, this year
it's being held at the Sheraton Auckland Hotel.
Many thanks to the conference team who
have been planning and preparing to bring you a conference
that should be an interesting, educational, challenging and
a rewarding two days. It will be packed with a diversity of
papers which are to run over multiple streams, so as to give
lots of choice:
New Lift. Covering
new developments or changes in project management.
Wind Sheer. Covering
management of business change via project management.
Up Lift. The softer
side of project management.
Taking Off. The
basics of project management.
There will also be ample opportunities
to network with your peers during the breaks and evening activities.
Our keynote speakers this year include:
Sabeer Bhatia (the
co-founder of Hotmail)
Melissa Clark Reynolds
(a self-made highly successful entrepreneur and millionaire)
Alan Patching (project
manager/director for some of Australia's largest construction
and development projects, including the Olympic Stadium)
Jack Ralston (self
described as a "part trainer, part motivator, agitator
and initiator - and a Futurist").
On behalf of the Project Management
Institute, the PMINZ Board and the conference project team,
we invite you to attend the 2002 Project Management Conference,
and experience the tradition of an event that is professional
and fun.
Yours Sincerely
Jane Farley, PMP
