On behalf of the Project Management Institute of New Zealand it is with great
pleasure that I extend to you a warm invitation to participate in the 2004
Project Management Institute of New Zealand annual Project Management
Conference. This year it is the turn of the Wellington branch to host the event
from 13 – 15 October 2004 at the Wellington Convention Centre. This conference will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Project Management Institute in New Zealand.

The conference is open to all individuals and organisations who wish to be
part of shaping the future of NZ through their project management skills. It
will be an opportunity to examine and understand methodologies that are
available to help you to look forward, to be inspired and to lead the Project
Management profession into the future. It will provide an opportunity to learn
and understand the vital contribution project management plays in successful
business outcomes.

The PMINZ Conference 2004: Back to the Future will not only inspire you to
think about and shape the future, it will also provide you with the opportunity
to celebrate the first ten years of PMI in New Zealand. There will be ample
opportunity for you to celebrate the achievements of the past 10 years and to
reflect on the amazing progress this organisation has made in its short history
in New Zealand.

It is 35 years since PMI International was established in the United States, and with in excess of 110,000 members internationally you will be provided with an opportunity to learn with one of the fastest growing organisations in the world. We will have the pleasure of welcoming from the USA Greg Balestrero, the PMI CEO, as one of our guest speakers who will tell us about the growth of PMI and the plans that PMI has for the Asia Pacific region.

I urge you to take this opportunity to register your interest and to forward your abstracts for papers or presentations now. The networking, sponsorship and industry exhibition opportunities will allow you to contribute to the future of Project Management in New Zealand. Enter these dates in your diary and
register your interest to participate. I look forward to your contribution and
meeting with you and others at this year’s 10th anniversary celebratory
conference 2004: Back to the Future. You will not be disappointed.
