Dear members and other project management professionals,
In 2012 the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) initiated a series of reviews by subject area of all qualifications at levels 1 - 6 (sub-degree level) on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (the NZQF). Degrees and postgraduate qualifications (levels 7 – 10) are outside the scope of the review.
One of the reviews presently underway is the review of business qualifications, which includes a separate review of project management qualifications as a specialist area. NZQA is in the latter stages of this review and it is your final chance, in terms of the current review, to influence the place of project management qualifications at sub-degree level in New Zealand.
You can have your say on this important next stage of the review here:- https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BUSQUALREVIEW
The link will be active until Saturday 6 April 2013.
Please refer to the attachment pdf for more information about the review.
Regards
Caroline Donovan

(The following message was read at the International Project Management Day event organised by PMINZ in Auckland on 1st November 2012)
On behalf of the people of Auckland, I welcome you to International Project Management Day here in Auckland.
In Auckland, project managers will be at the forefront of our vision of turning this city into one of the world's most liveable.
This Council has embarked on a programme of investment to cater for the 2 million people who will call this region home in 2031.Building a city takes dedication, hard work and a focus on both tackling the big issues, such as fixing the transport system, as well as supporting local communities with new parks, libraries and pools.
When delivering these projects, we strive for excellence to ensure they are well executed. Good execution can mean the difference between a project coming in on time and on budget, or delays and added costs to the public. As part of the world’s largest project management organization, with over 700 members here in Auckland, the Project Management Institute of New Zealand plays a key role in converting plans into reality.
I wish you all the best for this event and for all the work you do.
Thank you.
