Presented by Aileen Ellis, PMP, PgMP; President, AME Group Inc.
The Target Audience:
Project Managers, Programme Managers, Senior/Executive Managers, Team Leaders and anybody who needs to enhance their leadership, project management, team-building and coaching skills.
We invite you—no we urge you--to come and hear Aileen Ellis, prominent project management consultant, trainer, and international speaker, at the leadership workshop that is packing in audiences at PMI leadership conferences and global congresses around the world.
The Benefits:
Leaders in any organisation understand that success depends upon the quality and effectiveness of the working relationships between people. Aileen will help you understand your own motivations and strengths and those of the people you work with and live amongst. As you become more aware of yourself and others, new choices become possible. This day is about helping you make those choices and building your leadership and management skills through more productive relationships. Based on Aileen’s latest book, Chartering Your Course For Effective Communication, this workshop is filled with real-life examples that show how her ideas work in practice. You will be able to practice applying these ideas during the session and then be immediately able to implement them at work, at home, and in your communities.
What you will learn:
To develop and enhance the contribution you make to your organisation and your community by being better able to:
- Lead Others
You will learn about the four basic leadership styles and when and where these styles are likely to be most productive: Management by Enablement, Management by Direction, Management by Exception, Management by Consensus.
- Mentor and Coach
The focus is on building on the personal strengths of yourself and others. You will learn to understand not only what brings an individual a sense of self-worth and dignity but how to recognise and develop reward-rich environments.
- Manage Conflict
Conflict can be warranted (people do not agree on the goal) and unwarranted (people agree on the goal but disagree on how to accomplish it). Learning to identify whether conflict is warranted or unwarranted will allow you to make more informed choices on how to manage conflict. Conflict management strategies that recognise and respect the needs of all parties are most likely to result in win-win outcomes.
The Method:
Inventory, group exercises, stories, self-reflection in an engaging and fun learning environment. This seminar requires full participation by delegates to gain the benefits.
The Reference Material:
The seminar includes the Strength Development Inventory as well as Aileen’s latest book, Chartering Your Course For Effective Communication.
The Presenter:
Aileen Ellis has more than 20 years’ experience as a project manager and has trained thousands of professionals worldwide in leadership and project management. She is a member of the PMI-2008 leadership masters class, holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from John Hopkins University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Union College.
